Pulp Screen: "This Island Earth", 1953

Pulp Screen
My little tribute to Forrest J. Ackerman. I know he was the biggest fan of old sci-fi and horror movies.

This is for you, Uncle Forry. RIP.

Great job. It's hard to think the Ackermonster of all people is gone. He'd been around so long, always somewhere in the background at least, I have a hard time with the idea of him not being around anymore.

Does not get sweeter than that, FF. I imagine a slow procession of monsters shambling in the moonlight, Karloff's Frankenstein and King Kong, the Opera Phantom and the Kraken, the Ymir from 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH and the Cyclops from 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD, dutifully following a shade in horn-rimmed glasses joyfully leading them in spirit as he had in life. And he still has all the best toys. So long, Forry.

Dave: Thank you :)
Greg: Thanks! I remember when I was a kid I was used to buy this movie magazine and there was always a page written by Forry and with photos from his incredible collection. I was looking at these like a kid in a candy store :)
Chad: thank you :) That's a pretty pwerful image you are describing: I wish I had time to illustrate it...
Steve: thank you so much for stopping by, I am a long time fan :)
Jeremy: thank you, I really appreciate the kind comment :)

I found this picture online yesterday and it gave a whole new menaing to my tribute since I was just randomly choosing a sci-fi movie to tribute Forrest...

Cheers,
Francesco
